LE BOURGOT WHELK
Également connu sous le nom de buccin, le bourgot est récolté dans les eaux côtières maritimes du Québec, notamment au large de la Côte-Nord, de la Gaspésie et des Îles-de-la-Madeleine. Considéré par plusieurs comme un mets de choix, il possède un goût distinctif et savoureux. La chair du buccin est maigre et contient peu de calories. Riche en protéines et en fer, elle procure un excellent apport en phosphore, en iode et en calcium, ainsi qu’en vitamines C et D. Also known as buccinum, the whelk is harvested in the coastal maritime waters of Quebec, particularly off the North Shore, Gaspé and the Magdalen Islands. Considered by many as a delicacy, it has a distinctive and delicious taste. Whelk flesh is lean and contains few calories. Rich in protein and iron, it provides an excellent source of phosphorus, iodine and calcium, as well as vitamins C and D.
